Loren Fishman, M.D.
    
 

In over two decades of practice, Dr. Loren Fishman has gained an international reputation as a back-pain specialist, a diagnostician and a pioneer in the treatment of many disorders, including piriformis syndrome and rotator cuff tear. He has authored more than 70 academic journal articles and six books.

A past president of the New York Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Fishman is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia Presbyterian Medical School. He is currently finishing an innovative book about electrodiagnostic testing for Springer Publishing Company.

Dr. Fishman studied yoga in India with BKS Iyengar, uses it in his rehabilitation practice and has written extensively about yoga as an adjunct to medical treatment, including Yoga for Osteoporosis, coming out in March, 2010.

Dina K. Miller, MD
    
 

Dina K. Miller, M.D. is a Board Certified Physiatrist with subspecialty Board Certification in Pain Medicine. She also specializes in Sports Medicine and has additional certification in office-based opioid addiction treatment. Her training at the Mt. Sinai Medical School and Medical Center in NY City included a surgical internship and a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She received additional subspecialty training in Pain Neurology at the University of Miami Medical Center, where she learned to treat spasticity, painful dystonias and migraine headaches using botulinum toxin.

An expert in the diagnosis and treatment of various painful neuro-musculoskeletal problems and injuries, Dr. Miller performs office-based intraventional procedures such as Trigger Point Injections, Joint-bursa injections (cortico-steroid, hyaluronic acid; Synvisc, Euflexxa), Para-facet Blocks, Peripheral Nerve Blocks, Prolotherapy as well as neuro-toxin (Botox, Myobloc) injections. She has had great success in treating patients who have suffered acute injuries, functional losses and chronic pain.

Barbara Ruth Schwartz, MD, FAAPMR, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from CUNY, went to medical school and completed her residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She chose Rehabilitation Medicine because she likes the patient contact and the ability to help her patients improve and feel better without surgical intervention and has been with our practice for fifteen years.

A specialist in pain management, Dr. Schwartz is also an expert in Sports Medicine,Geriatrics, musculo-skeletal diagnosis and treatment and post-operative care. Treating patients in pain and with other unique problems led Dr. Schwartz to add acupuncture to her skills.

A medical consultant to TheraCare, Dr. Schwartz evaluates and diagnoses children who have or are at risk for developmental disabilities. She is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Allen Wilkins, M.D.
    
 

Allen N. Wilkins, a New York City native, received his MD from a combined program at Dartmouth Medical School and Brown Medical School. He did three years of orthopaedic surgery residency at Brown Medical School. Then his interest in diagnosis and non-surgical tratment of musculoskeletal disorders led him to Harvard Medical School, where he finished his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as Chief Resident.

He is an Associate member of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a member the American Academy of Electrodiagnosis and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.

For twenty years Dr. Wilkins has practiced martial arts, including tae kwon do, kung-fu, shorin-ryu, and aikido and has often acted as onsite physician at martial arts tournaments.

Elizabeth Campos, P.T.,C.L.T
Elizabeth is a physical therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist with over 18 years of clinical experience. Her training has inlcuded managing osteopenia and osteoporosis and pain management through the segmental neuromyotherapeutic model. She continues instruction in advanced manual therapy and sports medicine techniques. Elizabeth is a memeber of the American Physical Therapy Association.
    

Caroline Konnoth, P.T.
Caroline Konnoth, Chief PT, has more than 30 years of experience doing manual therapy for varying neurological and orthopedic conditions. Her methods include Mckenzie and Mulligan approaches, Craniosacral, and Lymph Drainage Therapy. She uses a visceral approach for treatment of trauma by manipulation of the abdomen, pelvis and thorax. She also works holistically using Reconnective Healing, Healing From The Core and Somato-emotional Release methods and Neurodevelopmental and Craniosacral Therapy in pediatric care.

Caroline is a teaching assistant with the Upledger and Barral Institutes, has authored “Physiotherapy in Antenatal and Postnatal Conditions” and is an approved provider by the NYS Department of Health Early Intervention program. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Indian Association of Physiotherapy, the International Yoga Foundation and the International Alliance of Healthcare Practitioners.

Rutvi Patel, P.T.
Rutvi graduated from M.S. University, India, with a degree in Physical Therapy in 2006. Rutvi worked for charitable orthopedic outpatient clinic in India, then came to the US. She earned a Masters in exercise physiology at George Mason University in Virginia. Her focus: orthopedic and manual therapy for spinal problems and continuing education in Paris, McKenzie and Maitland Approaches.
    

Stefan Schmid, P.T., M.A.
Stefan graduated in 2005 from the Physiotherapy School in Bern, Switzerland. After working for three years in a private clinic in Switzerland and obtaining a post-graduate certificate in analytical biomechanics in Germany, Stefan moved to New York City to continue his studies. In 2009, he graduated with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy/Pathokinesiology from New York University.
    

Elan Schneider, P.T. C.Y.T
Elan graduated from SUNY DOwnstate Medical Center in 2006. He has taken advanced courses in PNF stretching, muscle imbalances, orthopedic massage and is a Certified Yoga Teacher. Elan has experience with a wide variety of neurological and orthopedic conditions using a multi-faceted bio-psycho-social approach to patient care. He motivates patients to take an active role, restoring function as early as possible.
    

Bruce Wollman, P.T.
Bruce is a physical therapist with 20 years of experience. He has wide expertise in various manual techniques, including Feldenkrais. These techniques are extremely effective for addressing orthopedic and neurologic conditions.
